Why do something fun and outrageous this Valentines?
Simply because you're graduating! And that would mean this is your last Valentine's day as a high school or college student.
You've all heard about making the best out of our last years in high school or college. You've heard about those silly pranks seniors pull off to make things more memorable for them on their last days in school. You've heard about how fun they can be and yet, you still haven't tried to make one yourself.
Well, now is definitely the right time to try them out. This Valentine's, Gradshop has compiled 10 things you can do to celebrate heart's day in a unique and fun way!
Why don't we start with...
1. Give Free Hugs.
Friends, acquaintances or total strangers, give free hugs and greet everyone a happy Valentine's with a smile. You can bring placards with a 'Free Hug' note and roam around the campus. Who knows, your special someone might just be one among the crowd.
2. Serenade A Stranger at School (and Sing Like You Mean It)
You might not have that golden voice that can rock a concert stadium, but if you sing like you mean it, somebody will surely appreciate it. Stroll around the campus and find someone at a corner. Serenade him/her with a love song and greet that person a Happy Valentine's.
You wouldn't know how much it meant until you see them smile.
3. Ask a Crazy, Stupid Question in Class (and Make Everyone Laugh).
Sometimes, the best gift one can give on a special day is no more than a good laugh. This Valentine's, do something fun in class and ask a silly question. Say, 'If I master this equation, will you marry me?'
Leave a mark in class and get everyone to join you in the fun!
4. Write a Love Letter to your Crush (and Hand it to him/her Yourself).
Your days at school are numbered and if you don't tell him/her how you feel, then you might lose your chance forever. Tap your romantic self and write a love letter to the person you like at school.
Who knows? The feeling might be mutual.
5. Confess to your Crush.
Sure, the idea is embarrassing, and you'd probably wish to vanish right after you say it to him/her in person. But here's the thing. You're already a senior and it's Valentine's. There's nothing wrong if you do it because it's the season of love!
You might feel awkward after, and you might feel bad if you get an upfront rejection, but so what? It's not yet the end of the world. Better say it now than regret it later.
6. Doorbell Ditch (and Leave a Chocolate Bar at the Door)
Have you ever experienced opening the front door for someone only to realize that you've fallen to the common prank of doorbell ditching?
It's annoying isn't it? So why don't you make a change this Valentines and place a smile on others' faces instead of a frown once they open the door and find a chocolate bar on their doorstep?
Yes you'll need to spend for the chocolates, but just imagine how people would feel from your special Valentines gift! It'll be awesome.
7. Dress-up as Cupid and Give Free Cut-out Hearts to Anyone
Go somewhere public while wearing Cupid's trademark white cloth Greek mythology inspired costume plus the bow and arrow and give cut-out hearts to anyone you see in campus or on the streets. Take photos with some people if you want and don't forget to greet them a happy Valentine's day!
8. Buy A Cake and Give it to A Homeless Person
Almost everyone loves sweets. And aside from chocolates, cakes are a Valentine's day favorites. Instead of appeasing your sweet cravings this season, try some random act of kindness and give a cake to a homeless person you see on the street.
Nothing beats the joy of giving. Trust me on this.
9. Dine First Class With A Low Budget
How?
True. Dining in a first class restaurant under a low budget just doesn't make sense, and that's the point. This Valentine's is a moment to try something new, something different. It doesn't matter how you do it. Whether you settle just for appetizers or desserts to accommodate your budget, anything is perfectly fine.
The point is you tried.
10. Go Off the Wires For the Day (e.g. no cellphones and Internet/Social Media)
While you need to communicate with you friends in celebrating Valentine's day, you can do so without the aid of smartphones. Plan your activities in advance to get rid of the need to use phones on the day of the celebration.
You'll be surprised how much more you'll enjoy yourself without the distraction of a single text or phone call. Besides, it doesn't hurt to rid yourself of technology for a day. In fact, it could be liberating.
Raise the fun a knot higher on this year's Valentine's and make it more memorable! Prepare a checklist on the things I've mentioned above and have fun pulling them off!
Happy Valentine's Day, and spread the love! <3
